Results and Winners of the 38th Annual International Children's Art Exhibition Contest Released

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 16, 2008 -- Over 80,000 children and teenagers across the planet submitted their artwork to the Pentel sponsored 38th Annual ICAE exhibition and child art contest.

Representatives from the Foundation of Art Education in Japan, art professors, and art teachers from participating countries comprised the panel of distinguished judges.

The vivid imagination of a child is the recurring theme for the contest. The children's artwork is judged on originality, clear expression, and cultural expression in the work of art. Art is submitted in a variety of mediums including watercolor, charcoal, pastels, oil and acrylic paint, and colored pencil.

At the end of the contest several art exhibitions comprised of thousands of works of art created by children will be set to tour the countries of Japan, Ireland, The United Kingdom, Russia, Mexico, The United States, China, Venezuela, and Taiwan in a special art exhibit.

The panel of judges presiding over the event spent 4 months choosing this years 253 winners out of 80,000 plus entries.

Madeline Sexton, Max Gieg, Funi Olatilu, and Leri Oechsle stood out this year winning the ICAE's highest honor the "Special Gold Award."

Also standing out this year was the fine art instruction program, Mission: Renaissance. With their student's entries combining for a total of 15 awards, they won the distinction of being the school with the most winning contestants.
